Charlotte Dawson hit back after she faced a slew of trolling on social media over the weekend.

The pregnant television star, who is the daughter of late comedian Les Dawson, was forced to defend herself on Instagram after she was criticised for 'using' her late dad.

Charlotte, 27, recently announced that her baby's due date is one week before what would have been her dad's birthday.

However, former Big Brother star Hughie Maughan criticised the news on Facebook and accused the mum to be of 'using' her dad.

"Imagine constantly using your dead dad to get in the news. Disgraceful," Maughan wrote in a new deleted social media post.

Charlotte then clapped back on Instagram and tagged the reality star in a message.

"I've bit my tongue for too long now with you. You do it all on Facebook so I can't see," she penned.

In a second post she shared a collection of screenshots and accused Hughie of trying to 'befriend' her while also writing the cruel comments.

She wrote: "Funny how you write statuses about me on Facebook... but you wanted to befriend me?

"I don't even know you... and apparently the whole of Blackpool think bad of me... you're not even from Blackpool."

She added: "To use my dad is disgusting!!!!!!! Very sad and below the belt... shame you can't be happy for people and shame you feel so bitter in life..."

Charlotte was also forced to respond to criticism on social media after she was spotted sipping from a flute over the weekend.

Even though she specified alongside the post that she was drinking a non-alcoholic drink, it didn't stop the star facing nasty comments.

Charlotte then shared a statement on Instagram and posted a picture of an empty bottle of Nosecco, that is alcohol free.

She also explained that she had blocked the trolls and urged people to unfollow her instead of writing hurtful messages.

"...I have feelings & it hurts just like it would anyone.... Plus if anyone knows me they know how nervous I am about being pregnant with being careful with what I'm eating etc so I deffo wouldn't be drinking Prosecco.." Charlotte wrote.

"Also if you don't like my videos or anything I do just unfollow me now darlings because I have aaaaalot more to come. and to all my lovely supportive followers come ere yew love yas."️
