Cat Deeley is in "advance talks" for a lucrative come back on UK telly as she's working hard to secure her very own primetime game show.

In fact, the telly presenter, 43, has already recorded a pilot episode on Saturday as she hopes to shake things up with a major comeback after recently returning to the UK.

Cat and husband Patrick, along with their two sons, Milo, four, and James, two, returned to home soil earlier this year after years of living out in Los Angeles

They have been living in sunny California, but Cat has now explained part of the reason they decided to come back was after Patrick and their eldest son Milo were caught up in a terrifying mall shooting.

And after trading in the sun for rain, Cat is now setting her sights on securing her own primetime game show.

A source told The Sun : "Cat is a huge name and found fame on ITV so to welcome her back would be a real coup for the channel.

"She was approached to front a new gameshow. It's a big-money game and is a totally new concept that's not been seen before."

The source added: "Cat filmed the pilot on Saturday and it was a really successful day. If the pilot is given the green light, the dream is to get Cat signed up as the host and launch it as a series."

The insider added that Cat's team is working behind the scenes to negotiate a deal, however nothing's set in stone just yet.

Mirror Online has contacted Cat's reps for comment.

Since returning to the UK, Cat has been busy filming a special reunion show for her Saturday morning ITV series SMTV with Ant and Dec.

She starred on the series with the duo from 1998 until 2002.

Cat joined Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly to share a first look at their SM:TV reunion programme last month, a whole 18 years after they originally left the show.

She shared a sweet Instagram post of the trio inside a recreation of the iconic studio.

Cat penned: "SMTV reunion @antanddec ......All those in favor say 'I'..."
