Britney Spears 'wants conservatorship battle made public to air family secrets'

Britney Spears has called for the details of her conservatorship battle to be made public after a judge refused to remove her dad Jamie from its control

Britney Spears wants her conservatorship battle made public to air her family secrets, it's claimed.

Last month the singer, 38, attempted to remove her father Jamie from her conservatorship but her request was denied, with a judge extending it until February next year.

And now Jamie, who controls her financial and personal affairs under its terms, is reportedly attempting to seal parts of the case.

According to court documents seen by Page Six, Britney has argued that as her children Sean, 14, and Jayden, 13, have no medical or sensitive issues that should be protected future hearings don't have to be shielded from the public.

The documents are said to state: "Britney herself is vehemently opposed to this effort by her father to keep her legal struggle hidden away in the closet as a family secret."

They also allude to the #FreeBritney movement which fans have launched to call for the conservatorship to end, giving Britney control of her own life.

Some conspiracy theorists believe Jamie has been living off Britney's money, but he has always strenuously denied doing so.

The documents continue: "Far from being a conspiracy theory or a 'joke' as James [Jamie] reportedly told the media, in large part this scrutiny is a reasonable and even predictable result of James' aggressive use of the sealing procedure over the years to minimise the amount of meaningful information made available to the public."

Jamie reportedly denied the claims, saying: "I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year. How the hell would I steal something?"

Mirror Online has contacted reps for Britney and Jamie Spears for comment.

Britney's father was appointed conservator in 2008 after the pop star was hospitalised for psychiatric treatment.

When Jamie suffered from a bout of ill health last year, Britney's care manager Jodi Montgomery took over in a temporary capacity.
