Britney Spears poses in bikini as she enjoys honeymoon

Britney Spears ' ex-husband Kevin Federline has returned to the public eye following a decade-long silence to reveal he finds the pop superstar's naked selfies 'tough'.

In the last two weeks alone, the Toxic star has taken to Instagram on seven occasions to post images or videos of herself that contain nudity.

Now, 44-year old Californian, Kevin, who was married to Brit between 2004 and 2007 also claimed that their two sons - Sean Preston, 16 and Jayden, 15 - have chosen not to see their mother in months.

In a series of interviews that will air on ITV next week, 'K-Fed' and his family will tell viewers that he has decided to speak out in light of Britney's erratic behaviour affecting their children - particularly since her controversial 13-year conservatorship by her father Jamie came to an end in November.

Britney is no stranger to posting nude images of herself on Instagram

Britney, 40, who married the American-Iranian model Sam Asghari, 28, two months ago recently splashed out on a $10 million Los Angeles pad close to Federline's home.

However, according to Federline, that hasn't encouraged the teenagers to see her any more often.

"I try to explain to them, 'Look, maybe that's just another way she tries to express herself', he said of her naked antics. "But that doesn't take away from the fact of what it does to them. It's tough. I can't imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school."

He continued: "This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else. It's been tough. It's the most challenging thing I've ever had to do in my life."

Britney and Kevin were married for three years

Former backup dancer Kevin, who has been married to volleyball star Victoria Prince for the last nine years, added that he would still like to find a way of helping his former spouse.

"If there was a way – any way – I could possibly say something to just open [Britney's] eyes – but I haven't found that yet. I feel like, if I found that, I'd be on the phone trying to tell her."

Britney's fans, meanwhile, seem equally as concerned for the star, with some calling for FBI intervention to get her on the right path.

On Thursday she posted a photo of a red square without a caption which is the second post she has done so in the past week.

After doing it twice, fans took to the comments to express their concerns.

As a fifth wrote: "I’m worried."

Britney hasn't addressed the bizarre post or explained why she's decided to share it twice.
