Britney Spears accused of breaking the law with tropical Hawaii getaway for her 39th

Pop princess Britney Spears whisked her boyfriend away to Hawaii for a romantic getaway ahead of her 39th birthday - but some fans have accused the star of breaking coronavirus restrictions

Britney Spears treated herself to a tropical getaway in celebration of her 39th birthday - despite the global pandemic.

The pop princess jetted off to sunny Maui in Hawaii alongside her handsome beau Sam Asghari, 26.

The Baby One More Time hit-maker waited until she was back on LA soil before posting an array of stunning snaps from her romantic trip away.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the blonde beauty shared a glimpse into her tropical trip with her 27 million followers as she penned: “Felt like a little trip to paradise for an early birthday celebration.”

And now, fans have accused the singer of breaking the law after she flew from her hometown of LA to Hawaii despite the current health crisis.

Hawaii Governor David Ige mandates all visitors arriving in the Hawaiian Islands must self-quarantine for 14 days.

Anyone who fails to do so could face a maximum fine of $5,000 and a year in jail.

However, there is now a pre-testing option that allows travellers to bypass Hawaii's quarantine restrictions if they can provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test from a state-sanctioned testing partner.

Although Britney appeared to be having a wonderful time, a number of followers slammed the star for her ‘selfish’ decision to travel during the coronavirus pandemic.

One unimpressed Instagram user penned: “Wow! Yet another selfish celebrity who travels the world while everyone else stays at home. Unfollowed.”

Another echoed: “Britney, I love you but you probably shouldn’t be advertising the fact you just broke the law.”

Meanwhile, a third fan fumed: “Can someone tell me why she thinks she's entitled to fly off to Hawaii?”

Despite the backlash, Britney was glowing in the gorgeous snaps, which saw her kick back and relax on board the luxurious private jet.

The mum-of-two also posed in front of the private aircraft alongside her handsome boyfriend as the couple shared a cuddle before jetting off on their romantic rendezvous.

Britney later shared a loved-up couple’s selfie after she and Sam landed on the sunny island.

She captioned the sweet post: “We be like ...... in Maui!!!! PS .... don’t mind my hair.”

More fans rejoiced over how happy the pop star looked amid the ongoing legal battle with her father, James Spears, concerning her conservatorship.

Britney’s dad has been in full control of her career and finances for the past 12 years following her public breakdown.
