Brian Austin Green has filed his own petition for divorce from Megan Fox, asking for joint custody of their kids in the process.
The 47-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 star filed for divorce a day before Thanksgiving, the same day that Megan filed her own petition.
Brian has requested joint legal and physical custody of the couple's three sons, reports People.
The estranged couple have Noah Shannon, eight, Bodhi Ransom, six, and Journey River, four, with Brian citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce.
He has listed the date he separated from Megan as March 5.
It was two months after that date that Brian confirmed that he had split from Transformers star Megan, on an episode of his podcast …With Brian Austin Green.
This came after Megan was snapped with current boyfriend, rapper Machine Gun Kelly.
Brian and Megan had enjoyed a chequered relationship after meeting on the set of Hope & Faith in 2004.
At that time, Megan was 18 and Brian was 30 but they soon formed a relationship and dated for two years before getting engaged in November 2006.
Their relationship became fractured and they called off their engagement in February 2009 before rekindling their passion for each other and getting engaged again a year later.
They eventually married in 2010 but five years later, Megan was filing for divorce until they reconciled the following year.
It took four years for Megan to dismiss the divorce petition but just 18 months later, they have both filed again, with the relationship seemingly in a more terminal state this time.
Brian spoke out on his podcast, saying that their split came about after Megan returned home following months away filming Midnight in the Switchgrass, where she met MGK.
The split was amicable to begin with but has become increasingly more edgy as time goes on.
A source told People last month: "They are struggling to get along and have been for a while."
Another source said that Brian is struggling with seeing Megan's new romance in the media.
They said: "It's a tough situation. As a dad, Brian is great. He is wonderful with the boy.
"The issue is that he is bitter that Megan moved on so quickly with Machine Gun Kelly. It's been very hard for him.
"His behaviour can be pretty immature when it comes to Megan though. He knows how to get Megan upset.
"In the past, he was advised to chill out and just focus on doing the right thing for the boys."
