On Tuesday, Brad Pitt managed to get a surprise Emmy nomination when he was acknowledged as an Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Dr. Anthony Fauci during an episode of Saturday Night Live back in April.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Pitt’s nomination on Tuesday is his fourth thus far. In 2015, Brad was nominated as the executive producer for Outstanding Television Movie For Nightingale, and in the year prior, 2014, he won the same category for The Normal Heart.
Brad worked as an executive producer on The Normal Heart. Fans of Brad know his career goes back several decades. In 2002, he was nominated again for Oustanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for appearing on the legendary television show, Friends, around the same time as his relationship with Jennifer Aniston. Brad starred as Will.
Coincidentally, Aniston was acknowledged at this year’s Emmy Awards as well, including in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Morning Show. Thus far, in her career, Aniston has secured 7 Emmy nominations.
Regarding Brad Pitt‘s appearence on Saturday Night Live on the 25th of April, it was the first time the actor had starred in the comedy-sketch series in over two decades. Funnily enough, Fauci said in an interview with CNN a few weeks prior that he’d love to be portrayed by Brad Pitt.
Pitt made a number of jokes at Donald Trump‘s expense during his portrayal of Dr. Fauci, however, at the end of his skit, he took off his white wig and glasses and thanked the “real Dr. Fauci” and the medical workers with sincerity.
Pitt has been more active in the public eye lately, including his SNL appearence, on reality television programs, as well as his notorious Golden Globes Speech which was hailed for being both self-deprecating and funny.
From 2016 until 2o20, Pitt has frequently been in the headlines for his relationship with Angelina Jolie.
The pair have reportedly been fighting a child custody battle over some of their adopted children. Jolie, on the other hand, appears to be living more privately.
