Ann Marie reportedly made an emotional 911 call moments after her friend was shot in the head.
The 25-year-old R&B singer has since been arrested over the incident but at the time of it happening, TMZ has reported that she implied it was an accident when speaking to the dispatcher.
Ann Marie's 24-year-old friend Jonathan Wright was shot in the head in an Atlanta hotel room, with the singer saying that a gun went off after she grabbed a towel which inadvertently knocked the firearm to the floor, firing a bullet on impact with the floor.
Jonathan suffered a bullet wound in the centre of his forehead and an exit wound near his left temple, with police and paramedics heard on the call tending to him.
TMZ has reported that Ann Marie is heard on the call in a hysterical state, shouting "I love you" as help comes to her and Jonathan's aid.
She allegedly was pleading for help on the call and there was much commotion as paramedics tried to keep Jonathan awake before he was transferred to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
CBS 46 has reported that police responded to a call at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel, near Atlanta on December 1.
Jonathan, who was a childhood friend of Ann Marie and was visiting from Chicago, was found to be still responsive at the scene despite losing a lot of blood and was soon rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The singer reportedly told officers at the scene that “a gun fell off a table in the hotel room, which caused the gun to go off, hitting the victim.”
Another bullet hole was reportedly found in a cabinet with another in a door.
Ann Marie was reportedly arrested on December 2 and booked at Fulton County Jail for possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
