Amber Heard couldn't have put the poo in Johnny Depp 's bed because she's "faecal phobic", it's been claimed.
The infamous incident has been much-discussed during the actor's libel trial against The Sun and News Group Newspapers (NGN).
He is suing over a headline that labelled him a "wife beater", a claim which he denies.
Depp, 57, has previously said that finding a poo in his bed spelled the end of his marriage to Heard, 34.
He believes it was put there by her or one of her friends, but she denies that and claims it was one of their dogs.
Today, during the 14th day of the trial at London's High Court, Heard's longtime friend iO Tillet Wright claimed that it was impossible for Heard to be responsible.
Speaking via videolink, Mr Wright said that Depp suffered from "paranoid delusions", adding that he was "in a froth" when he questioned Mr Wright over the poo in the bed.
Mr Wright said there is no way Heard would have been responsible for it, because she is "faecal phobic".
He said: "She likes to pretend she doesn't do that [excrete] in private, let alone in her bed."
He said Depp had questioned him because he had overheard him on the phone, asking Heard if she was safe.
The court has previously heard that Depp wanted to DNA test the poo to prove it was human.
Depp's estate manager, Kevin Murphy, said the star was "sullen and disgusted" when he was told about the faeces found in his bed by his housekeeper.
He told the court about the lengths the actor wanted to go to to discover who was responsible.
He said: "At this stage I believe he suggested getting the faeces DNA tested."
Mr Murphy says he later got an "angry" phone call from Heard, who said that the incident was just a "harmless prank" and that him sending pictures of it to Depp "was not helping".
She later denied making the comment days later during a three-way phone call between them and Depp.
Mr Murphy said: "Ms Heard yelled and called me 'a f***ing liar' multiple times. I asked her to stop yelling and swearing at me and overheard Mr Depp in the background saying 'please don't speak to him that way. Be respectful'.
"I then heard Mr Depp say that he couldn't do this anymore and wanted a divorce. When Ms Heard would not stop yelling, I hung up the telephone. I received multiple additional telephone calls from the same number in the minutes that followed, but I did not answer them."
Mr Murphy says he was later contacted by Depp who apologised to him for "Ms Heard's behaviour" and also for putting him in the middle of his marital issues.
The actor's estate manager also offered 'proof' to the court that the poo couldn't have come from the dogs.
Mr Murphy said in a statement: "Ms Heard has since publicly blamed the faeces on one of the dogs, however, the faeces did not appear to come from either of Mr Depp's and Ms Heard's two small Yorkshire terriers.
