Amanda Holden shares worries of daughter going on Love Island

Amanda Holden has voiced her worries her model daughter Lexi Hughes, 16, will want to go on Love Island when she's older after becoming "obsessed" with this year's series.

The Britain's Got Talent judge, 51, spoke of how Lexi has been gripped by the show after Ashley Roberts gave an update on Thursday night's explosive episode.

Amanda said she has banned her eldest from ever participating in the ITV2 dating series, admitting Lexi might have got ideas to be a future islander after seeing how Michael Owen's 19-year-old daughter Gemma and now Ronan Keating's son Jack, 23, form part of the line-up.

She said on Friday's Heart Radio Breakfast: "So this is becoming a bit of an obsession with my teenage daughter at home now, whose never taken one scrap of interest in Love Island and now is all over it.

"Which worries me slightly bearing in mind that Michael Owen’s daughter is on it, and I’m like, 'you ain’t ever going on it, Alexa'."

Jamie Theakston replied: "Oh, imagine that!"

"But anyways, she’s loving watching it… I can imagine it, and I’m not," Amanda said.

To which Jamie teased: "Oh please, it would be perfect for this show".

Amanda hit back: "No it wouldn’t. Mama said no. She loves me too much, she won’t do it!"

Back in March, the actress announced her daughter Lexi joined modelling agency Storm Management - which is known for having represented Kate Moss, 48, for much of her career.

And although Kate is no longer with them, its current roster of artists includes supermodel Cindy Crawford, 56, and musician Michael Bublé, 46.

The BGT judge teased at the time she could become a 'momager'.

She shared the news with the Daily Mail, stating that the modelling agency - often referred to simply as Storm - had been one of several who had approached her daughter.

Amanda said the deal was signed "this week," adding that the company "came after" Lexi - with her describing them as "very lovely and nurturing" towards the teenager.

She further commented: "It will be a soft, slow thing and [Lexi] won't do anything until she's 18 but they want her and that's what she wants to do."

Amanda said that there was "quite a number of them" who were interested in Lexi, with her adding: "She has made the decision to sign with [Storm]. Chris and I support her."

The radio presenter said that the couple - who are also parents to Hollie Hughes, 10, - are "very protective" and are "making sure" that Lexi completes her A-Levels.

Amanda teased in the interview that she could become like Kris Jenner, 66, who has been referred to as a 'momager' - having been involved in the success of her children.

Listen to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 06:30 – 10:00 and on Global Player.
