Amanda Holden has issued a vital health update on pal Simon Cowell after his brutal injury.

Music mogul Simon was rushed to hospital in August after an accident on his electric bike broke his back in three places.

After emergency surgery, Simon's on the mend, but despite his efforts, it's been reported he won't make it back to Blighty for the Britain's Got Talent Christmas special.

Now his judging colleague on the show Amanda has assured concerned fans that he's received constant attention from medical staff.

Appearing on a video call to Loose Women, Amanda told the panel: "He's doing really well. I keep in touch with [Simon's girlfriend] Lauren every week, and it was his birthday yesterday, he turned 61.

"She said his will and his determination is brilliant and they've got round-the-clock care.

"He'll be back I have no doubt."

Despite Amanda's optimism, she's feeling her friend's absence, particularly during BGT.

Saturday will see the live final kick off, after the pre-recorded semi-finals came to an end last weekend.

Fans were concerned about BGT's future following his injury, but Diversity star and show alum Ashley Banjo was on hand to step up and fill the void left by Simon.

And despite proving a fan favourite, his and his Diversity mates' moving Black Lives Matter-themed dance routine sparked a flood of complaints to broadcast regulator Ofcom.

Complaints are now at more than 24,000, but Ashley and Diversity are sticking by their routine and its message.

ITV are also fully behind the group, and Ofcom elected not to investigate the dance.

Ashley told that he would dance the same routine "100 times over" as he thanked fans for their support.

"Creativity is always a leap of faith," he wrote on Instagram.

"All I did what was what felt right and I'd do it 100 times over...Sending love to everyone that stood by us."

Ofcom ruled: "We carefully considered a large number of complaints about this artistic routine, an area where freedom of expression is particularly important.

"Diversity's performance referred to challenging and potentially controversial subjects, and in our view, its central message was a call for social cohesion and unity.

"Any depictions of violence by the performers were highly stylised and symbolic of recent global events, and there was no explicit reference to any particular political organisation – but rather a message that the lives of black people matter.
