Amanda Bynes returns to Instagram with dramatic new look after months away

Easy A star Amanda Bynes has debuted a stunning and understated new look as she makes her Instagram comeback after months away

Hollywood star Amanda Bynes displayed a dramatic new look as she made her Instagram return.

The star has not posted on the social media page since July when she re-branded the page as Matte Black Online Store and deleted old posts.

In the new snap, the former star of Nickelodeon's The Amanda Show wore long, straight brunette locks swept over her right shoulder with a side parting and bangs.

Amanda, 34, also donned big hipster glasses with a transparent frame and a septum piercing on her nose.

She is also seen in a yellow and black flannel shirt over a blank print t-shirt.

The top half is paired with high-waisted blue jeans with a distressed knee and a high-ankle.

On her feet, Amanda donned white sneakers to match the white walls of the neutral room she posed in.

Amanda shared the image on Instagram with no caption and without the possibility for fans to comment on the post.

She has appeared in recent weeks in posts by her fiancé Paul Michael's Instagram page since, however, rocking a more alternative style.

Back in May, Amanda spoke about how she was spending recent months finding ways to cope with her 'social anxiety'.

Sharing a selfie debuting her recently new style, Amanda captioned the snap: "Update: Getting my Bachelor's Degree from FIDM [Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising].

"Taking online classes, trying to get a 4.0 GPA.

"Looking forward to starting my online store in the future #goals.

"Spent the last two months in treatment. Worked on coping skills to help with my social anxiety that caused me to drop out of school months ago. Back on track and doing well!"

She signed off by noting: "Hope you're all staying safe. Love y'all x."

Amanda was catapulted to fame in the 1990s and 2000s after she got her own show at the age of 13 on Nickelodeon.

She subsequently landed roles in films such as She's The Man, Big Fat Liar, and her last documented film role in 2010's Easy A.

The star has been candid about her battles with mental illness over the years, including when she tweeted in 2014 about her diagnosis of bipolar affective disorder and manic depression.

The star previously spoke to Paper Magazine about her behaviour on social media as she struggled with her mental health issues.

"I can't turn back time," she remarked. "But if I could, I would.

"And I'm truly sorry to whoever I hurt and whoever I lied about because it truly eats away at me.

"It makes me feel so horrible and sick to my stomach and sad - everything I worked my whole life to achieve, I kind of ruined it all through Twitter."
