Amanda Owen discusses being a TV shepherdess

Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda and Clive Owen confirmed they are no longer together in an announcement made on social media last night.

The 47-year-old confirmed her split from her spouse of 21 years on Instagram, after months of rumours and speculation regarding the state of their relationship.

She wrote, in a joint statement: "Clive and I have are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.

"This hasn't been easy, but we both believe it's the right choice for the future of our family."

The statement continued: "Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children."

The sad news has most likely affected fans of the couple and their popular Channel 5 show.

However many saw it coming as rumours about their marriage being on the rocks began circling in November last year.

Amanda was even forced to explain why Clive rarely made an appearance on her social media after fans questioned her about it.

She hit back at fans after questions were raised about the whereabouts of her husband.

At the time, it proved to be a sensitive subject for the Yorkshire shepherdess after a difficult 12 months or so with her marriage.

It came after the shepherdess shared a clip of the "moorland dawn chorus" at Ravenseat Farm, which she had captioned: "Early birds. A moorland dawn chorus. #yorkshire #shepherdess #spring #birds."

In the video, the she told fans: "Well behind me you can see my yow with a new set of twins, but it’s the birds who are so noisy this morning.

"You can hear all sorts, grouse, snipe, lapwing, it's beautiful!"

While many enjoyed the sounds of nature, there were some that asked why Clive never features on her social media videos and is rarely seen in any pics that she shares.

One fan questioned: “Why doesn’t your husband ever appear on these be great to see him.”

This prompted Amanda to join the thread on Twitter to put the reasons to bed, for what she hopes is for all time.

Amanda hit back, writing: "Because if you don’t wish to be on social media then that’s your choice.”

The fan then explained: “Of course it is just thought it be nice as he plays a major part in the programme.

“Great programme btw.”(sic)

Unfortunately for Amanda, the questions still came, with another commenting: "Lovely photos but where is your husband would be nice to see some of him in the pictures.”

And another added: "Still never see your hubby on pics with you."

In an interview on This Morning, the loving mum revealed how her husband has "changed" since appearing on the reality show.

During a cooking segment, she said: "Last week, me and Violet baked bread and we purposely let some go stale because we’re going to be cooking rhubarb bread and butter pudding."

As Amanda chopped the rhubarb before adding sugar and water into a pan, she told viewers: "I want it to cook very quickly so it keeps it colour and keeps it shape."

Moving on to the next step, she continued: "That’s the rhubarb poached, next is to make the Creme Anglaise.

“This, of course, used to be called custard but because Clive’s gone all posh, it’s now Creme Anglaise."

Following their split, Channel 5 have issued a statement regarding the future of Our Yorkshire Farm.

It seems despite the pair going their separate ways, the show will go on - with Channel 5 confirm there is a future for their much-loved series.

In a statement shared with Express.co.uk, Channel 5 have since said: "We respect the privacy of Amanda and Clive Owen at this time.

"They are very much a part of the Channel 5 family and we will continue to work with them in the future."
