Love Island star Dr Alex George has made his return to social media after taking a two week break following the death of his brother.
The 30-year-old reality star and NHS doctor was left devastated in July when his younger brother, Llŷr, died aged 20 following a battle with mental health.
Former Love Island star Alex announced soon after that he would be taking time away from social media to dedicate time to his family and his own wellbeing after the sad news.
On Monday, the star marked his return to social media by sharing a photo of himself looking peaceful while sat on a bench in a lush and green garden.
He captioned the photo – which he shared on Instagram : “Hi everyone - I am back.
“Taking some reflective time offline these last few weeks was really important for me. I have been spending time with my family and friends, living in the present and trying to focus on the things that matter most.
“Working in A&E has also been a helpful focus, the love and support from my friends and colleagues has meant the world to me and I am thankful to them all.
"I'm sure there will be ups and downs to come but I am glad to be back on here - this community we have built together means a lot to me and I am grateful for you all.”
He added: “Let’s do this.”
Alex’s post was met with immediate messages of support – with many welcoming him back in to the social media spotlight.
Touched by the well wishes he had received, Alex later took to Instagram Stories to thank his fans and followers.
He wrote: “Your support has been unreal. Thank you.”
