Lord Alan Sugar has mocked Donald Trump after he lost out in the US election to Joe Biden.

Sugar tweeted Trump, his counterpart on the US version of the Apprentice, to tell him "you're fired" - a catchphrase both men use when dismissing contestants.

Trump finally lost the presidential race on Saturday when Joe Biden won Philadelphia which gave him the 270 electoral college votes he needed to snatch victory.

Just hours later Sugar made the cheeking remark, writing: “@realDonaldTrump it is with regret You're Fired!”.

And it appears that his followers enjoyed the post as it has racked up a staggering 100,000 likes and 19,500 retweets.

It has not the first time the mega-rich businessmen have clashed.

In 2012 Sugar told Trump to stay out of British politics after he attacked George Osbourne's decision to put the UK in debt to fund “garbage wind turbines” in Scotland.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan added fuel to the fire when he suggested Trump fire Sugar from the UK Apprentice for “impertinence”.

The pair were at loggergheads again just a year later over who had more money.

Trump claimed: “Sugar is nowhere near being a billionaire - and I know, he works for me!”

Sugar fired back by branding Trump an “ignorant ego crazed liar”.

On Good Morning Britain in 2016, Sugar took aim at Trump, saying he “constantly talks rubbish” and has “nothing to do with the Apprentice ”.

Prior to his appearance Trump insisted Sugar is not "economically viable".

But Lord Sugar rubbished the claims and said that if Trump really believes that then he should give him his P45 and fire him.

To rub salt in the wound, Piers, who loves to stir trouble, then showed a clip of him interviewing Trump with Donald blasting Lord Sugar's wealth, or lack thereof.
