Adele showed off her American accent in a teaser video as she prepares to host Saturday Night Live.

The singer, 32, is making her hosting debut on the US sketch show tonight and she tested out her American drawl in a promo clip.

In the teaser, Adele is seen alongside SNL cast member Kate McKinnon and musician H.E.R talking about the upcoming show.

Kate attempted an English accent and Adele went one better by replying in a perfect American twang saying: "Oh my God! No worries, girlfriend!''

The Grammy award-winning singer wore a shimmering satin top and black trousers that showed her slender figure and wore a mask for the promo, which revolves around the confusion about H.E.R. singing and not Adele.

It starts with the London-born singer saying: "Hi! I'm Adele, and I'm hosting Saturday Night Live this week with musical guest H.E.R."

McKinnon then asks: "Wait, her or her?" pointing first at H.E.R. and then Adele.

Adele adds: "No, H.E.R." gesturing toward the show's singing guest, who replies: "Oh, wait, her?" and points to McKinnon.

The comedian then says: "Yes, me, it is I who will be musical guest this week."

When announcing her appearance on Instagram, the chart topping songstress wrote: "Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified!

"My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!!"

At the time, she said that there would be no singing performance from her as she wanted to concentrate on hosting.

Adele continued: "I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right.

"But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?"
