Adam Woodyatt's estranged wife Beverley Sharp was left devastated when he walked out of the family home without explanation a year ago - and suspects there's something else going on.

The 52-year-old EastEnders star, who has played Ian Beale on the BBC soap since 1985, secretly ended his marriage last August and moved out earlier this year without giving Beverley, 55, any warning, according to fresh reports.

While his camp has confirmed the speculation surrounding his broken marriage, they've been keen to stress there's no third party involvement in the end of the relationship - but according to the Sun On Sunday, Bev isn't convinced.

"Bev has kept a dignified silence for the sake of the children but this isn't the amicable split that's being portrayed," one pal told the newspaper.

"Adam walked out on Bev nearly a year ago without explanation. She didn't even know where he'd gone.

“She's only seen Adam once since he left and she's no idea why he walked out on her. He's shown her no respect at all."

The mole added: "The media briefings all seem to be about protecting Adam's reputation and that of EastEnders. Bev's obviously hugely upset about the way she's been treated."

Mirror Online has approached the BBC for comment.

The ex-dancer is said to be suspicious that now-single Adam might be seeing someone new, although neither of the exes has publicly commented yet.

Adam's Twitter header picture still shows him cuddled up to Bev alongside their grownup children Jessica, 27, and Samuel, 23, at a wedding.

In a statement earlier this week, a spokesman for the star said: "Beverley and Adam separated in August 2019 and we ask that the family's privacy is respected."

Adam met ex-dancer Beverley after finding fame on EastEnders, and they married at Disney World in Florida in April 1998.

The pair also own their own gin brand, Neat Gin, which they launched together in 2017 and signed a deal with Marco Pierre White to sell in 50 of his restaurants a year later.
