New Spider-Verse toys have been showing up on the shelves of Target stores in the days leading up to the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. However, a few toys, in particular, seem to suggest the return of Spider-Punk, a Spider-Man variant from the comics. The majority of the toys pertain to characters that have already been revealed. One of the toys is called “Spider-Punk Web Blast” and features none other than Spider-guitar, Punk’s as many fans pointed out on Twitter. A Spider-Punk mask with the character’s recognizable horn hairdo was also spotted by fans.

The character will make their first film appearance in Across the Spider-Verse if these toys truly do indicate Spider-comeback. Punks In the comic books, the Earth-138 native Spider-Punk was renowned for using both his web-spinning abilities and electric guitar as weapons. Fans got their first peek at Across the Spider-Verse earlier this year; the first 15 minutes featured a glance into the lives of characters like Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Spider-Man 2099.

Even while it’s unclear whether additional Spider-variants will appear in the future movie, it’s obvious that a lot of work went into its creation. The biggest cast ever for an animated picture, 40 characters, and six universes will all be present, Sony confirmed earlier this year. The movie will now be released on June 2, 2023, following a delay.
