A New Installment Of The Fatal Fury/Garou Fighting Game Series Has Been Approved And Will Be In Development Throughout EVO 2022, According To An Official Announcement From SNK

The three founders of one of the most well-known fighting game brands of the 1990s were Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, and Joe Higashi. In less than ten years, the 1991 Neo Geo game Fatal Fury would inspire ten different sequels and spin-offs, culminating in Garou.

Released in 1999: Mark of the Wolves. However, as SNK‘s popularity decreased and it turned its attention to King of Fighters and the utilization of Fatal Fury characters in other games, Fatal Fury eventually went extinct. But thanks to SNK’s announcement of Fatal Fury’s return, the wait is now ended.

During the King of Fighters XV tournament finals, which were a part of EVO 2022’s Sunday activities, SNK felt it would be a good time to reveal what it is currently working on.

The existence of a new Fatal Fury/Garou game was made official through a teaser trailer. Beyond that, not much was shown, and it was made clear that the new Fatal Fury game is still in its early stages. Fans of Fatal Fury will have to wait as they have for the past 20 years.

The inclusion of the two characters, Kain and Billy, may suggest that the new Fatal Fury game is a legitimate sequel and a continuation of the established Fatal Fury timeline.

But there is a hint of what fans might anticipate in the teaser image from the Fatal Fury teaser film. Not for people who played the first Fatal Fury, but for those who played the most recent, a key figure is presented that should be recognizable.

Rock Howard, who also looks to be the protagonist in SNK’s newest game, is the protagonist of Garou: Mark of the Wolves. That is Rock Howard, chosen child of Terry Bogard and Geese Howard.

Someone wearing a bandana and what appears to be staff is standing behind them, resting on a trash can. There is still a lot to learn about the updated Fatal Fury.
