Page Six reported on a statement from a record label today in which they revealed their signed artist had died. Mark Antonyyo Alexander, 25, who went by the name, Lil’ Yase, passed away after he was shot to death.
In an Instagram tribute this Saturday, the rapper’s record label released a statement in which they said that Lil Yase had died. Amid their tribute, the label explained how he loved his fans so much, and thankfully, there was a whole back catalog of songs that Lil Yase left behind for his fans.
Page Six picked up on a blog post from a California website, The Thizzler, in which they confirmed he had died on Saturday. The site wrote that Lil’ Yase was a legend in the scene and he “held it down for San Francisco” as well.
Insiders who spoke with TMZ claimed the young rapper had been hanging out with his friends at a studio in Marin County, Friday, just north of San Francisco. The rapper reportedly walked out the door and said he would come back soon.
TMZ says that two hours later, the group began hearing rumors that he had been shot in the East Bay. TMZ claims the rapper’s friends and relatives are completely shocked by his death because he didn’t have any enemies or foes in the business.
The insider shared that Lil Yase “had no known enemies” even though he rapped a lot about shootings and other aspects of gang culture. Hip Hop fans know this is just another loss this month following the death of King Von who was also shot and killed while outside of a club in Atlanta.
As it was previously reported, King Von was shot and killed outside of a hookah lounge where he and his friends had been celebrating. Apparently, a fight broke out inside the club which then spilled out into the streets. King Von was just one among a few others who were killed in the shooting.
Additionally, a close and personal friend of Boosie Badazz, Mo3, was chased down and then shot and killed by a suspect driving a 2014 or 2015 Chevrolet Camaro.
