Kristian Doolittle did a lot as an Oklahoma senior, notching 15.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Those were clearly career-best numbers, capped by double-doubles in his final two college games.
His statistics were pretty much even between conference and non-conference games, so he showed that the production was there against some of the best competition. He made the All-Big 12 first team as a senior a year after he was dubbed the conference’s Most Improved Player.
He found ways to smooth out many of the wrinkles in his performances and ended up with some pretty solid numbers. His shooting touch was displayed by hitting 79.3 percent of his free throws.
Doolittle’s sophomore season was reduced because he sat out fall-semester games due to academic issues.
ANALYSISDoolittle is at 6-feet-7 and carries the 230 pounds well. He’s a sleek athlete and that should factor in his favor.
He’s not shy about playing in the post even when he’s at a height disadvantage. It’s those types of abilities that give him a well-rounded background. All his time as a power forward for the Sooners could pay off in a form of versatility. It’s probably a good thing that Doolittle can excel in the post because his range is limited and he might not have the respect of defenders when he steps out near or beyond the 3-point arc.
There are times that some observers suggest he gets lost in the speed of games and can get out of his comfort zone.
