Police footage shows Alec Baldwin finding out Halyna Hutchins has died
Alec Baldwin must have fired the gun normally on the set of Rust, fatally wounding Halyna Hutchins, the FBI has concluded.
A copy of the forensic analysis report, which has been obtained by ABC News in the United States, and it states the details of the examination into all the facets of the fatal accident, to ascertain if criminal charges are warranted.
The US TV network has said that after examining the revolver – a single action .45 Colt caliber F.lli Pietta – the FBI believe that it could not have been fired without someone actually pulling the trigger.
It has been reported that this was found by accidental discharge testing by the Bureau.
The report allegedly doesn’t make clear whether the tests were done with the gun that Alec Baldwin had used or an identical one.

The FBI has reported that if the gun was working properly then it would not release a bullet and primer simultaneously if the hammer was being fiddled with.
Actor Alec has said that he was fiddling with the gun when the shooting happened.
When speaking to ABC in an interview in which he tried to make clear what happened and how, Alec said that he had pulled the hammer back so that he could pose for a camera position, which was being done by Halyna.

After that Alec claimed that he released the hammer and the gun fired without him pulling the trigger.
The FBI have said, according to ABC, that they set the hammer at various angles and positions to see if they could make the gun fire without pulling the trigger.
They have concluded that they couldn’t make it fire and that the hammer could only detonate the primer when de-cocked and directly struck.
This means that the gun would make a gunshot sound but it would not discharge a bullet if accidentally fiddled with.

It is uncertain where this leaves Alec as it isn’t clear whether it was the actual gun which was tested or another and if it was not the gun used in the accident, there is no telling that the gun may have malfunctioned differently to the one that the FBI tested.
The findings have been sent to law enforcement officials in New Mexico, who are conducting the investigation.
Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office has stated that they are still waiting for the phone records from Alec, who had previously stated that he was cooperating and delivering the records to law enforcement officials in New York, so that they could send over to New Mexico.
